I’m not going to lie…when I was informed that we were going on a company field-trip to an All Green Electronics recycling site for a tour, I immediately envisioned pile after pile of plastic scraps, broken televisions, and generally just chaos all around.

I was nothing short of shocked to walk into a warehouse that was meticulously organized from floor to ceiling. Neat stacks of similar recyclable goods were organized onto pallets, while the warehouse area itself was partitioned into segmented portions that are part of an elaborate recycling process. Ultimately this hand sorted process results in the a surprisingly low amount of “scrap”. Scrap is the non-recyclable plastic which All-Green pays to send to another plant to be disposed of  in a green way. They explained to us the uniqueness of this process. Most recycling warehouses, while they do recycle some items, end up with a large amount of scrap. All-Green is very devoted to completely green processing, to the point where they take many losses to ensure that all of their collected recyclable e-waste is processed in a completely environmentally friendly way. All Green is commendable, looking past mere profits towards something bigger and ultimately more profitable for the world at large – a greener future.

To read more about All-Green, check out this article… http://www.ocmetro.com/t-Feature_All_Green_Electronics_Recycling0210.aspx They definitely take being green to a whole new level…with  their all-green everything…from the green walls, to the “reduce, reuse, recycle” wall art…they are dedicated to “green” from floor to ceiling… 😉

What does this have to do with my company, you might ask? StorAmerica Management (California Arizona Storage Centers) has teamed up with All-Green to provide drop-off locations for anyone wishing to responsibly recycle their electronic waste. The Certificate you see about is pretty neat. To date we have now prevented 42,858 lbs of CO2 from polluting the atmosphere! That’s a pretty amazing accomplishment for us as a company!

“Going green” is a commitment and an ongoing process. As a company, StorAmerica is jumping on board the new eco-friendly train, helping to promote electronic waste recycling as a free service to not only our customers but the surrounding communities as well!
